Getting ready…
added lag
Measuring the connection this device is using now. Uses about 7 MB per hour (about 1.5 MB in Low data mode).
Uses more battery, so plug in your phone.
Last 10 minutes
What happened
Nothing to report yet. Lag spells, dropped connections and pauses show up here.
Details
Use this if your internet route changed (for example a new router) and the card stays on lag while nothing is using the line.
Full lag test
A one-off test: idle ping, download and upload speed, and how much lag your line adds while it is full.
Before you start
Uses about 70 MB on lines under 80 Mbps and 170–320 MB on faster ones. Usually takes under a minute (up to ~1.5 minutes on very slow uploads). It fills your line, so anyone gaming or on a video call will notice.
You're on mobile data: this test can use up to 320 MB of your data allowance.
Something is already using your line, so the result will look better than it really is. Run it when the card says Clear.

Honest limits
- Lag Watch notices when anything in your home fills the internet line (a phone backing up photos, a laptop downloading, a console updating), because a full line slows every device. It can't tell which device it is: pause devices or apps one at a time and watch the card.
- It checks your line, not the game. If this says Clear but your game still lags, the problem is probably the game's server, the route to it, or the console's own Wi-Fi.
- It only measures while this page is on screen. Switching tab or app, minimising, locking the screen, or a full-screen game on this computer stops it, and a console pauses its browser while a game runs. To watch while you play, keep Lag Watch open on another phone, tablet or computer on the same home network.
- If this device is on Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hiccups show up here too. A computer with a cable gives the cleanest reading.
- Ping here is to the nearest Cloudflare server, so it's usually lower than your in-game ping. Added lag adds on top of the game's ping.
